Roadshow

For the past 8 weeks, the youth have been preparing to put on a roadshow. It was somewhat of a daunting task, but we managed to pull it together and the kids delivered stellar performances two nights in a row. The first night there were "celebrity judges" and we were given an A+ for our perfomance. I have loved being a part of this experience and I will always be one who loves roadshows. Our show had an 80's theme, so we embraced the opportunity to get out the 80's garb. Briab was in the band and he totally embraced his part.

Happy Birthday Lucy!

It is official, Lucy is one. Her birthday was yesterday, but we have been celebrating for a few days. She has such a funny little personality and we are so glad she is a part of our lives. She can stand up all by herself, so steps are probably not far away. She loves to sing and play with her sisters. She has multiple faces that she likes to pull. Happy Birthday Lucy, we love you lots!

Half-time show

On Saturday night, Leah and Annie had the opportunity to perform at half-time for the UNLV vs BYU football game. Over 500 dancers, cheerleaders, and gymnasts performed. It was a special performance for breast cancer awareness. The Magic gymnastics team was right in the center of the field. Leah and Annie did somersaults and cartwheels across the 50 yard line for their part of the performance. They did a fantastic job and it was super fun to see them out on the field.

Mickey D's and Me

Today was the big fundraiser at McDonald's for Leah and Annie's gymnastic team. I signed up to work two half hour shifts working the drinks at the drive thru window. Leah and Annie were supposed to help, but apparantly, McDonald's has some tough child labor laws, so that left me to do the work. When I first got there, someone had already been assigned to the drink job (why have sign-ups?), so I got the buns assignment. That is right, I was in charge of toasting the buns. There I was in my flip-flops, apron, and hat toasting buns for 30 minutes. Not the most stimulating job, but not super terrible either. I was right right there in the thick of things, watching how the sandwiches are assembled, and I am pleased to say that I could probably still order one. I was not going to miss the drinks assignment, so when I had my fill of the bun toasting, I hustled over to the drive thru at the "shift change." I am also happy to say that I was pretty efficient at putting the lids on the cups. Brian and the girls went through the drive thru and I got to give them a little shout out. All, in all, it wasn't a bad way to earn some money for the girls.
